Underground Leak Detection
Do you think you have a water leak and don't know where it's coming from? Maybe you have a dripping tap, leaking toilet or weak plumbing? Whatever the case, detecting a water leak is a very important issue and not to be taken lightly. Not only does having a leak in your home waste water, a most precious natural resource, but it can also cause damage to your home if left unattended and it can steal the value of your home.

Infrared Leak Detector
Here's why, unattended leaks, drips etc., if left unattended can damage drywall and/or baseboard material. Once damp mold spores can begin to virtually grow as long as there is moisture & oxygen present. There's mold that grows on wood, paper, carpet, food & insulation. Because mold eats or digest what it is growing on, it can damage a building and its furnishings. If let unchecked, mold eventually can cause structural damage to building materials. Mold gradually destroys the ting they grow on. You can prevent damage to buildings and building contents, save money, and avoid potential health problems by controlling moisture and eliminating mold growth.

"Moisture control is the key to mold control"

Mold occurs throughout South Florida. Detection of mold is usually by visual inspection and/or air and surface sampling. Because some mold is not readily airborne compared to others, air sampling in a contaminated indoor environment may show low levels of spores in the air. Also, some methods used for mold evaluation of indoor air are not adequate. Inspection of potential sites of contamination, especially in covered and protected places, is a necessity to determine where the mold occurs and the level of contamination. If areas contaminated with mold are discovered, do not attempt to solve the problem yourself. With toxic molds you need to call a professional to avoid a serious problem. Do not disturb contaminated areas yourself. Dust created can increase exposure to the mold and its components.  CALL THE EXPERTS WE CAN HELP  TODAY!!

HEALTH EFFECTS: Inhalation exposure to mold indoors can cause health effects in some people. Molds produce allergens (substances that can cause allergic reactions), irritants, and, in some cases, potentially toxic substances or chemicals (mycotoxins). Inhaling or touching mold or mold spores may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Mold does not have to be alive to cause an allergic reaction. Dead or alive, mold can cause allergic reactions in people with allergies. If you suspect mold problems, you should acquire the services of professional consultants to test for and identify molds, plus obtain advice on remediation.

How is the Air Quality in your home?

Mold is a tiny living organism which is natural part of our environment.
Outdoors, it plays a beneficial role in the ecosystem breaking down dead organic material and recycling it.

Molds come in many colors – green, white and black molds being the most common. Molds reproduce by emitting tiny spores which float through the air indoors and outdoors. When the mold spores land on any damp spot, they grow and digest the material. There are molds which grow on food, carpets, paper products, and wood. Many natural materials such as fabrics and leather can host mold growth as well. Though beneficial in the natural environment, mold growth in the home can cause health problems and damage.

Mold spores in concentration can exacerbate the symptoms of asthma and other respiratory ailments.

There is no way to eliminate spores from the air, however elimination of the moist areas in which they grow is key to stopping the spread of growth within the home. To eliminate moisture: Fix water leaks like leaky plumbing immediately. Ensure adequate ventilation. Ensure that HVAC drip pans are clean flowing. Keep indoor humidity below 60% (RH) Do not leave wet or damp spots un-cleaned for long.

If you have extensive mold or toxic black mold growth within the home professional mold remediation will be necessary. The actual process of mold remediation depends on the type of mold and the extent of its contamination. Mold remediation can be dangerous and if there is toxic black mold present it should be removed by professionals using approved protection devices to prevent exposure.

Mold Testing is performed in two ways:
Air Quality Testing and Surface Swab or Tape  Samples.

Air Quality Testing
Mold testing: This procedure is done to analyze the air mold spore counts level and identify the type of mold culture.
Swab Test
Testing includes evaluating the entire home (inspection): check all the drywall, do moisture reading etc., and investigate where the actual source is coming from and causing fungal growth!?? 48-72 hours turn around for test results.

1st Priority Restoration Service: Carpet Cleaning Service

1st Priority Restoration Service: Carpet Cleaning Service: How often should I get my carpets cleaned? Frequently used carpet should be professionally cleaned by a qualified technician at least on...

Carpet Cleaning Service

How often should I get my carpets cleaned?
Frequently used carpet should be professionally cleaned by a qualified technician at least once or twice a year - perhaps a little longer interval for infrequently used carpet and even sooner for carpet in homes occupied by respiratory sensitive or allergic persons or in homes with indoor pets.
What is the standard drying time when carpet is cleaned?
When cleaning carpet, it is highly recommended that drying occur within six to eight hours or less: however, drying time must not exceed 24 hours. Failure of the professional to implement drying procedures could result in a variety of after-cleaning problems. Often, occupant cooperation is needed to expedite drying.
With normal temperature and humidity coupled with use of your heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, the carpet should be dry in much less than 24 hours. This is the 1st PRIORITY RESTORATION PROMISE!

The principles of carpet cleaning include

  • Dry Soil Removal - Thorough vacuuming using an upright vacuum with brush agitation and high-efficiency double-lined collection bag, or a final filter, to remove up to 99 percent of particles.
  • Soil Suspension - This involves the application of properly specified, formulated and mixed preconditioning agents designed to separate soil from fibers. There are four fundamentals involved in soil suspension: application of preconditioning chemicals; using heat or temperature to speed chemical reactions; agitation for proper chemical distribution, and providing dwell time so that chemical  reactions can be completed before soil extraction is attempted.
  • Soil Extraction - Any method of cleaning must physically remove soils if it is to be successful. Soil removal takes place with absorption, wet vacuuming, rinsing and even dry vacuuming. The most common method for soil removal among professionals is hot water extraction.
  • Drying - Damp carpet resoils rapidly, creates potential for slip-fall problems and ultimately, can grow bacteria with associated odor.

Here's a Few Carpet Cleaning Tips .....
  • Deep clean the carpet once every four, for heavy traffic carpets, to six month.
  • Quickly clean up the spills with water or other special products available in the market for this purpose. Water mixed with vinegar also works well to remove the stains.
  • High quality vacuum helps achieve better cleaning. Going in several directions on the floor with vacuum the effectively removes the debris from the carpet.
  • Use doormats extensively
Carpet cleaning is not just washing the carpets. It is a little bit of a laborious task.

Depending on your carpet type and its properties you need to decide the right carpet cleaning solution.
